Short books to read when you have a bit of free time

Some stories don’t need hundreds and hundreds of pages, they can be beautifully delivered in under 200 or even under 100 pages.

<100 pages

<150 pages

<200 pages

  • All We Shall Know by Donal Ryan – amazing writing and an amazing story of women that become pregnant form a man that isn’t her husband, and an unlikely friend she finds.
  • What Belongs to You by Garth Greenwell – Beautifully written story. Sad and poetic. Some descriptions are very raw. It’s a story of a relationship between American teacher and young man he pays for sex. One of my favourite books of 2016.
  • On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan – poignant story of a young couple on their wedding night. Movie adaptation went out this year, and I really want to see it.

What short books do you recommend?

I highly recommend the Binti series! The first book is under 100 pages, the second under 200, and the final is just over 200 pages. I just don’t understand how Nnedi Okorafor packs so much into so few pages…
