I don’t want to miss on a new release from my favourite authors, or authors that are not on my favourite list but whose books I liked and maybe their next release will make me fall in love with their writing. So here’s a list of books coming out in 2018 written by authors I love (or just like, but hey, their new book sounds exciting!).
by Zadie Smith
Yes! A new book by Zadie Smith! Too bad it’s just collection of essays, I’d prefer fiction novel, but I’m not gonna complain too much.
Not That Bad: Dispatches from Rape Culture
by Roxane Gay
I love every piece of writing with Roxane Gay’s name on it. I cannot wait to read this. It will be heartbreaking and thought-provoking and I’m ready for it.
by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff
The third book in The Illuminae Files series. I can’t wait to read it! I loved two previous books and I really need to pick up other books by those authors.
by Jay Kristoff
This one just sounds really cool- lifelike android? Gladiator robots? Gangsters? Yes!
Eagle & Crane
by Suzanne Rindell
Her Three-Martini Lunch was amazing! I’m not super excited about the World War II setting, but I’ll give it a try anyway.
by Olivia Laing
No cover yet. Book set to be published in June. Laing’s The Lonely City is one of my favourite books of 2016. This novel is set in the modern world of Brexit and Trump America, and I want to read it now!
You Think It, I’ll Say It
by Curtis Sittenfeld
Eligible Sittenfeld’s retelling of Pride and Prejudice was fun, and I think those short stories will be really enjoyable to read filled with interesting female characters.
by Jen Wilde
Queens of Geek is a fun book, highly recommended if you’re looking for a light uplifting read. Will this new book be as fun as the previous one?
Mariam Sharma Hits the Road
by Sheba Karim
I recently read That Thing We Call a Heart, and it was great. Karim can create great characters and I want to meet characters in her new book. She’s not exactly my favourite author, but I like her writing.
Are there any new books coming out this year by author’s you love/like? What book you cannot wait to read in 2018?
