My Year In Fantasy & Science Fiction Books

I read 7 fantasy and science fiction books this year. It wasn’t a genre I chose a lot this year, I just wasn’t much in the mood for it. But I’m feeling a fantasy phase coming soon.

Most of the fantasy and sci-fi books I read this year weren’t that good, I just have three books I rated 4 stars, and non 5 star reads. That’s enough to say that it wasn’t a good year in fantasy for me.

– 5 stars –

I didn’t read any 5 star fantasy books this year! 😦

Any recommendations for fantasy and science fiction books publish in 2017 that I worth putting on my 2018 TBR list?

A book I quite enjoyed this year was “The Red Threads of Fortune” by JY Yang. I think it was published early November, on the same day as its companion novella (The Black Tides of Heaven). There were some concepts in this book I found very intriguing and fascinating.

I’m not sure… I’m not that interested in what happens next. I doesn’t seem to be my kind of book. Have you read the whole series?

Great post! I loved Dark Matter! I read it earlier this year and thought it was great. I recommend The Themis Files if you are into sci-fi books. There are currently two books out, Sleeping Giants, and Waking Gods, and they are both so, so good. The audiobooks are amazing since the books are told through interviews and the audiobooks have a full cast.

I’m surprised A Monster Calls has a low rating haha. Other bloggers seem to love it! Haven’t read it myself though.
    I thoroughly enjoyed Caraval 😁
Sucks that you don’t have any 5 star books – hope you read better sff books in 2018!
